Security State Bank Meger

On July 1, 2019 we merged with Security State Bank in Sutherland Iowa, allowing us to remain an independent bank serving our communities and rural areas well into the future. We continue to have local stockholders and local decisions. Our lending limit increased which will allow us to better serve our loan customers. In time we will gain efficiencies that will cut expenses allowing us to continue offering competitive deposit rates and loan rates.

  • All account numbers stayed the same. Any checks, debit cards and ATM cards that you have on hand can continue to be used. We will continue to use the same routing number for the foreseeable future but if you are ordering new checks or starting new ACH’s please use this new routing number: 073921161.
  • Our new online banking system will provide many new features for you to use however please keep in mind that none of the account history prior to June 29, 2019 is available online.
  • We will continue to be referred to as Peoples Savings Bank. On legal documents we will be referred to as Peoples Savings Bank-A Division of Security State Bank Sutherland Iowa. We have tried to keep the name “Peoples Savings Bank” on all our documents. Unfortunately this hasn’t always been possible. Sometimes you have seen “Security State Bank” where you have been used to seeing Peoples Savings Bank. We have worked with the software company and have been able to correct most of these issues. We are currently working with the Federal Reserve Bank to correct similar Issues. In the event, please know that when you see “Security State Bank” and your account number is on the document, that it is indeed your account.

ATM/Debit Cards

How do I find ATM's with no fees?
Look for an ATM that is part of the Privileged Status Network, which Peoples Savings Bank is part of, because they will not surcharge you for a transaction. Go to shazam.net to find a locator.

What do I do if I have lost my card?
Please call Shazam at 1-800-383-8000.

What is the difference between a Debit and ATM card?
A Debit Card is similar to a credit card except that it is tied directly to your checking account, so you can only spend up to the amount available in your account at the time you use your card* (or up to your daily spending limit). Debit cards can be used at stores, for online purchases and to withdraw cash from an ATM by using your PIN number.

An ATM Card allows you to withdraw cash from an ATM machine with the use of your PIN number.
